Here’s a simple and flavorful Tortilla Wraps with Ground Beef recipe that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or a quick snack.


Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For assembling:

  • 4–6 large flour tortillas
  • Lettuce leaves, washed and chopped
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole (optional)
  • Sour cream or plain yogurt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef filling:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add onions and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
    • Stir in chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix in tomato sauce or salsa and let simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened.
    • Stir in shredded cheese until melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Prepare the tortillas:
    • Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until soft and pliable.
  3. Assemble the wraps:
    • Lay a tortilla flat. Add a layer of lettuce, beef mixture, tomato slices, avocado/guacamole, and a dollop of sour cream.
    • Fold the sides over, then roll tightly from the bottom.
  4. Serve:
    • Slice in half and serve warm.

💡 Tips:

  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce if you like extra spice.
  • You can swap beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • These wraps can be made ahead and wrapped tightly in foil for lunch on the go.
