Stovetop Bread (No Oven)

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients
    • Gradually add milk and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead lightly on a floured surface for 3–4 minutes until smooth.
  3. Divide Dough
    • Shape dough into a round loaf or divide into smaller rolls.
  4. Prepare Pan
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over low-medium heat.
    • Lightly grease the pan with oil or butter.
  5. Cook Bread
    • Place the dough in the skillet. Cover with a lid.
    • Cook for 8–10 minutes on one side until golden brown.
    • Flip and cook another 8–10 minutes on the other side.
    • Lower heat if the bread browns too fast but isn’t cooked inside.
  6. Cool Slightly
