Here’s a simple and fluffy Yogurt Cake recipe that’s moist, tender, and super easy to make—no fancy ingredients required!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (any kind, full-fat works best)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: zest of 1 lemon or orange for extra flavor
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan (or line with parchment paper).
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla (and citrus zest if using) until smooth.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients:
    Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined—don’t overmix.
  4. Bake:
    Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool & Serve:
    Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with honey if desired.
