Ingredients

Noodles & Beef:

  • 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles or any preferred noodles
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 2–3 green onions, chopped

Sauce:

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (or honey)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, for richness)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Optional Garnish:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Extra chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles
    • Boil noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef
    • Heat a large pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
    • Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add aromatics
    • Stir in garlic and ginger; cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Make the sauce
    • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
    • Pour over the beef and stir to coat.
  5. Combine with noodles
    • Add cooked noodles to the pan and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
