🧾 Ingredients

  • 2 cups cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 2 tbsp rice flour (for extra crispiness)
  • 1–2 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Fresh coriander (chopped, optional)
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil (for frying)

🔪 Instructions

1. Prepare the mix

  • In a bowl, combine cabbage, onion, green chilies, garlic, and spices.
  • Add gram flour and rice flour.
  • Mix well—add very little water gradually to form a thick batter (not runny).

2. Heat oil

  • Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
  • Test by dropping a tiny bit of batter—if it rises slowly, oil is ready.

3. Fry the fritters

  • Drop small portions of the mixture into hot oil (don’t overcrowd).
  • Fry on medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
  • Turn occasionally for even cooking.

4. Drain

  • Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
