Posted on April 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious fried halloumi cheese recipe—crispy outside, soft and squeaky inside.

🧀 Fried Halloumi Cheese

🧂 Ingredients

  • 200–250g halloumi cheese (firm, salty cheese)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (or butter)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Black pepper or chili flakes (optional)
  • Honey or hot sauce for serving (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the cheese

  • Slice halloumi into ½ inch thick slices
  • Pat dry with a paper towel (helps it crisp better)

2. Heat the pan

  • Use a non-stick pan
  • Heat olive oil on medium heat

3. Fry the halloumi

  • Place slices in the pan (don’t overcrowd)
  • Cook 2–3 minutes per side
  • Turn when golden brown crust forms

👉 It should be crispy outside and soft inside

4. Finish & serve

  • Optional: squeeze a little lemon juice on top
  • Add black pepper or chili flakes

🍽️ Serving ideas

  • 🥗 In salads (Greek-style with tomatoes & cucumber)
  • 🥪 In sandwiches or wraps
  • 🍯 Drizzled with honey for sweet-salty flavor
  • 🌶️ With chili sauce as a snack or appetizer

🧠 Tips for best results

  • Don’t use high heat—it can burn outside before inside softens
  • No need for breading; halloumi fries naturally
  • Best eaten immediately while warm
