SLOW COOKER CUBE STEAKS WITH GRAVY

Posted on February 7, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes—this is pure cozy comfort food 🥄🤍
Here’s a tender, fall-apart slow cooker cube steak with rich gravy that basically cooks itself.

Slow Cooker Cube Steaks with Gravy

Ingredients

  • 4–6 cube steaks
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix (or onion gravy)
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1½ cups beef broth (or water)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced (optional but excellent)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, but adds depth)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thicker gravy)

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks
Lightly salt and pepper both sides of the cube steaks.
  2. Layer in the slow cooker
Place sliced onions (if using) in the bottom. Lay cube steaks on top.
  3. Make the gravy
    In a bowl, whisk together:

    • Brown gravy mix
    • Onion soup mix
    • Cream of mushroom soup
    • Beef broth
    • Worcestershire sauce
  4. Pour & cook
    Pour gravy over the steaks.

    • Low: 6–8 hours (best for super tender meat)
    • High: 3–4 hours
  5. Thicken if needed
If you want thicker gravy, stir in cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes and leave the lid slightly cracked.

Serve It With

  • Mashed potatoes 🥔 (classic move)
  • Egg noodles
  • Rice
  • Biscuits or crusty bread for gravy-dipping

Easy Add-Ins / Variations

  • Add sliced mushrooms for extra umami
  • Swap cream of mushroom for cream of chicken
  • Brown the cube steaks first for deeper flavor (optional, not required)

If you want a from-scratch gravy version (no packets) or an oven or Instant Pot twist, just say the word 😄
