Here’s a classic, comforting chicken and noodle casserole recipe — creamy, cozy, and easy to customize.


🍗 Classic Chicken & Noodle Casserole

Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (optional but recommended)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup crushed buttery crackers (like Ritz) or breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain.
  3. In a large bowl, mix:
    • Cream of chicken soup
    • Sour cream
    • Milk
    • Garlic powder
    • Onion powder
    • Salt & pepper
  4. Stir in cooked chicken, vegetables, and noodles.
  5. Spread mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Mix crushed crackers with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

  • Add sautéed mushrooms or celery for extra flavor.
  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Add a dash of poultry seasoning or paprika for warmth.
