Here’s a quick, flavorful Broccoli and Mushroom Stir Fry — perfect as a side dish or served over rice for a light meal.


🥦 Broccoli & Mushroom Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced; cremini or button work well)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or sesame oil)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional but recommended)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for depth)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water or vegetable broth
  • ½ teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep sauce:
    In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water/broth, and sugar. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Cook broccoli:
    Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    Add broccoli and stir-fry 3–4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
    Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Cook mushrooms:
    Add remaining oil to the pan. Add mushrooms and cook 4–5 minutes until golden and tender.
  4. Add aromatics:
    Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Combine:
    Return broccoli to the pan. Stir sauce mixture again (cornstarch settles) and pour into pan.
    Cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats vegetables.
  6. Serve:
    Garnish with sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Optional Add-Ins

  • Sliced bell peppers
  • Snow peas
  • Carrots
  • Tofu or chicken for protein
  • A drizzle of chili oil for heat
