Here’s a simple homemade lunch meat (deli-style turkey or chicken) recipe — no preservatives, just real ingredients 🥪✨


🍗 Homemade Lunch Meat (Turkey or Chicken)

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless turkey breast (or chicken breast)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

2️⃣ Season the meat:
Pat dry. Rub with olive oil, then coat evenly with salt and spices.

3️⃣ Prepare for roasting:
Place in a small roasting dish. Pour chicken broth around (not over) the meat.

4️⃣ Cover tightly with foil and roast for 60–90 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

5️⃣ Cool completely:
Let rest, then refrigerate at least 4 hours (overnight is best). This firms it up for slicing.

6️⃣ Slice thinly using a sharp knife for sandwich-style slices.

  • Keeps in the fridge 4–5 days
  • Can be frozen in portions

Flavor Variations

  • Honey Ham-Style: Add 1 tbsp honey + ½ tsp ground mustard
  • Italian: Add oregano, basil, and a pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Smoked Flavor: Add ½ tsp liquid smoke
