🍯 Loquat Jam (Simple Recipe)

🛒 Ingredients (Makes ~2 cups jam)

  • 2 cups loquats (pitted and peeled)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup water

1️⃣ Prepare the Loquats

  1. Wash loquats thoroughly.
  2. Peel if desired (skin is edible but slightly tart).
  3. Remove pits and roughly chop the fruit.

2️⃣ Cook the Jam

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine loquats, sugar, lemon juice, and water.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit softens (~15–20 minutes).
  3. Mash the fruit slightly with a spoon or potato masher.
  4. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency (~10–15 more minutes).

3️⃣ Store & Serve

  • Pour hot jam into sterilized jars and let cool.
  • Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.
  • Delicious on toast, pancakes, yogurt, or desserts.
