Ingredients

For the Cake
- 1½ cups All-purpose Flour
- ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ cup softened Butter
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 large Egg
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven
Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan. - Make the crumb topping
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
Pour in melted butter and stir until large crumbs form. - Prepare the cake batter
- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to the batter alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.
- Assemble
Spread the cake batter evenly in the pan.
Sprinkle the crumb topping generously over the batter. - Bake
Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. - Cool and serve
