🥪 Classic Ham Salad Recipe

🕒 Prep Time: 10 minutes | 🍽️ Serves: 4–6

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked ham, finely chopped or ground

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (adjust to taste)

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon or yellow mustard

  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish (or finely chopped pickles)

  • 2 tablespoons celery, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely minced (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar (optional, for brightness)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Paprika or chopped parsley (optional garnish)

🔪 Instructions:

  1. Chop or grind the ham:

    • You can pulse the ham in a food processor for a finer texture (don’t overdo it), or finely chop it by hand.

  2. Combine ingredients:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the ham, mayo, mustard, relish, celery, and onion (if using).

  3. Season:

    • Add lemon juice or vinegar if you want a bit of tang.

    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Chill (optional):

    • Let the salad chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to meld.

  5. Serve:

    • Scoop onto bread or toast for sandwiches, serve with crackers, stuff into tomatoes or celery sticks, or use as a dip.

📝 Variations:

  • Deviled Ham Style: Add a dash of hot sauce, cayenne, or chopped jalapeños.

  • Sweet & Tangy: Use honey mustard and add a bit more relish.

  • Egg & Ham Salad: Add 1–2 chopped hard-boiled eggs.

  • Low-Carb: Serve in lettuce cups or cucumber boats.
