Here’s a simple, healthy Cabbage Soup recipe you can make at home:


🥬 Cabbage Soup Recipe

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1/2 medium cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 2 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 2–3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (or 3 fresh tomatoes)
  • 6 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Sauté base
    Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly soft.
  2. Add cabbage
    Stir in shredded cabbage and cook for another 3–4 minutes until it starts to wilt.
  3. Add liquids
    Pour in broth and add tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and spices.
  4. Simmer
    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–35 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Finish & serve
    Remove bay leaf, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.

🍽️ Tips:

  • Add chicken or beans for extra protein
  • For spicy version, add chili flakes or green chilies
  • Tastes even better the next day
