Posted on April 21, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic baked milk pudding—creamy, lightly sweet, and very simple to make with basic ingredients.

🍮 Baked Milk Pudding (Custard-Style)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2½ cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for firmer texture)
  • Pinch of salt

🍯 Optional topping

  • Caramel sauce (for base or drizzle)
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Fresh fruit

🔥 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Set to 160°C (320°F).

2. Prepare caramel (optional but classic)

  • Melt 2–3 tbsp sugar in a pan until golden
  • Pour into baking dish and swirl to coat bottom
(Skip if you want plain pudding)

3. Mix custard

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth
  • Add milk, vanilla, salt, and cornstarch
  • Whisk gently (don’t create too many bubbles)

4. Bake

  • Pour mixture into prepared dish
  • Place dish in a larger tray filled halfway with hot water (water bath)
  • Bake for 40–55 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center

5. Cool

  • Let it cool at room temperature
  • Chill in fridge for at least 2–3 hours

🍮 Tips for perfect pudding

  • Don’t overbake—it should stay creamy
  • Use warm milk for smoother texture
  • Water bath prevents cracks and rubbery texture

🍽️ Result

You get a silky, soft baked milk pudding with a custard-like texture—light, comforting, and perfect for dessert.

🌿 Variations

  • 🍫 Add cocoa powder for chocolate pudding
  • 🍋 Add lemon zest for citrus flavor
  • 🥥 Replace part of milk with coconut milk for tropical taste

If you want, I can also give you a no-oven stovetop version or a Japanese-style fluffy milk pudding.
