🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 2 lbs (900g) ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 6 slices bacon
  • Optional topping: ketchup or BBQ sauce

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or foil.

2️⃣ Make the Meatloaf Base

  1. In a large bowl, combine: ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Mix gently until just combined (overmixing makes meatloaf dense).

3️⃣ Assemble

  1. Shape half the meat mixture into a loaf on the pan.
  2. Layer cheese slices on top.
  3. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and gently press to seal.
  4. Lay bacon strips over the top.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 50–60 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Optional: In the last 10 minutes, brush with ketchup or BBQ sauce for a glaze.

5️⃣ Rest & Serve

  • Let meatloaf rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or in sandwiches.

  • Cheese: Use cheddar, American, or pepper jack for a spicier kick.
  • Bacon: Partially cook for 5 minutes if you want crispier bacon topping.
  • Mix-ins: Add diced pickles or sautéed mushrooms for extra burger flavor.
  • Make Ahead: Shape meatloaf and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight before baking.
