Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Here’s a classic baked mac and cheese recipe using Macaroni and Cheddar cheese. It’s creamy inside with a golden top. 🧀🍝


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Macaroni (elbow pasta)
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika (optional)
  • ½ cup Breadcrumbs

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the pasta

  • Boil the macaroni in salted water until just tender.
  • Drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the cheese sauce

  • Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add flour and cook for about 1 minute while stirring.
  • Slowly add milk, whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Cook until the sauce thickens.

3️⃣ Add the cheese

  • Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth.

4️⃣ Combine

  • Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

For extra flavor, mix cheeses like Mozzarella or Parmesan cheese with cheddar.
