🥬 Cabbage Fritters (Recipe)

🧾 Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
    Cabbage
  • ¾ cup gram flour (besan)
    Gram flour
  • 1 small onion (sliced, optional)
  • 2 green chilies (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander (chopped)
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed (to make batter)
  • Oil for frying

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the mixture

  • Add shredded cabbage to a bowl
  • Mix in salt and let it sit for 5 minutes (helps release moisture)
  • Squeeze lightly to remove excess water

2. Make the batter

  • Add gram flour, spices, chilies, onion, and coriander
  • Mix well
  • Add a little water only if needed
  • Batter should be thick and coat the cabbage well

3. Fry the fritters

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Drop spoonfuls of mixture into hot oil
  • Fry on medium heat until golden and crispy
  • Remove and drain on paper towels

4. Serve

  • Serve hot with chutney, ketchup, or yogurt dip
