Crispy chicken fillet

Here’s a crispy chicken fillet recipe that gives you juicy chicken inside and a perfectly crunchy coating outside. I’ll include both pan-fried and oven-baked options.


🍗 Crispy Chicken Fillet

Serves: 3–4

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 10–20 minutes


Ingredients

  • 3–4 chicken fillets (breasts sliced in half lengthwise if thick)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked or regular)
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Oil for frying (if pan-frying)

Step 1: Prep the Chicken

  • Pat chicken dry.
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and onion powder.

If the fillets are thick, pound them slightly for even cooking.


Step 2: Set Up Breading Station

You’ll need 3 bowls:

1️⃣ Flour
2️⃣ Beaten eggs
3️⃣ Breadcrumbs

Dip each fillet:

  • First into flour
  • Then into egg
  • Finally into breadcrumbs (press gently so they stick well)

🔥 Option 1: Pan-Fried (Extra Crispy)

  1. Heat about ½ inch oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Fry chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Drain on paper towels.

✔ Juicy inside


🔥 Option 2: Oven-Baked (Healthier)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place breaded fillets on a lined baking tray.
  3. Lightly spray or brush with oil.
  4. Bake 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway.

✔ Less oil
✔ Still crispy (especially with panko)


Optional Flavor Boosts

  • Add ¼ cup grated Parmesan to breadcrumbs.
  • Add ½ tsp cayenne for spice.
  • Marinate chicken in buttermilk for 1–2 hours before breading for extra tenderness.

Serve with fries, salad, or garlic mayo.
