Onions are definitely healthy — but let’s separate real benefits from exaggerated claims.


🧅 What Onions Actually Do for the Body

✅ 1️⃣ Support the Immune System

Onions contain:

  • Vitamin C
  • Quercetin (a powerful antioxidant)

These help reduce inflammation and support immune function — but they don’t “supercharge” immunity overnight.


✅ 2️⃣ Help Heart Health

Onions may:

  • Improve cholesterol balance
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Support healthy blood vessels

Quercetin has been linked to modest reductions in blood pressure in some studies.


✅ 3️⃣ Support Blood Sugar Regulation
