Fried Salmon Patties

Posted on March 18, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious fried salmon patties recipe—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside 🐟🍽️

🐟 Ingredients (makes 4 patties)

  • 1 can (14–15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 cup cooked fresh salmon)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 1–2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for moisture)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2–3 tbsp oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Optional add-ins: chopped parsley, dill, garlic powder, paprika

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Mix the patties

  • In a bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, and seasonings
  • Mix until combined but not mushy
  • Form into 4 evenly sized patties

2. Heat the oil

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat
  • Make sure pan is hot but not smoking

3. Fry the patties

  • Place patties in the skillet
  • Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan

4. Serve

  • Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or a side salad

💡 Tips

  • Chill patties 15–20 minutes before frying to help them hold together
  • For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch

If you want, I can make a one-pan version with vegetables included so you fry salmon patties and cook your sides at the same time—super convenient for a quick dinner.

Do you want me to do that?
