Garlic butter shrimp

Posted on February 9, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a garlic butter shrimp recipe—quick, flavorful, and perfect as a main dish, appetizer, or pasta topping.

Garlic Butter Shrimp (Serves 2–3)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Cook the Shrimp

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic (and red pepper flakes if using) and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.

3. Finish the Dish

  1. Remove from heat and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp.
  2. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  3. Serve immediately with rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter.

Tips

  • Don’t overcook: Shrimp cook very quickly; overcooked shrimp become rubbery.
  • Flavor variations: Add a splash of white wine or a pinch of smoked paprika for extra depth.
  • Make it a pasta: Toss cooked spaghetti in the garlic butter shrimp sauce for a complete meal.

💡 Result: Juicy, garlicky, buttery shrimp with a hint of lemon and fresh herbs—ready in under 15 minutes.

I can also make a “one-pan garlic butter shrimp with veggies” version that’s low-carb and weeknight-friendly.
