No need to scrub, just put the oven rack in a bag and it will be as good as new.

It sounds like you’re sharing a cleaning tip 😊

If you’re talking about cleaning an oven rack, yes — putting it in a sealed bag with a cleaning solution can loosen baked-on grease so you don’t have to scrub as much. Here’s the safe way to do it:

🧼 Easy Oven Rack Cleaning Method

What you need:

  • Large heavy-duty trash bag (or 2 if needed)
  • ½–1 cup household ammonia
  • Gloves
  • Well-ventilated area (preferably outdoors)

Steps:

  1. Place the oven rack inside the trash bag.
  2. Pour the ammonia into the bag (you don’t need to coat the rack — fumes do the work).
  3. Seal the bag tightly.
  4. Leave it outside or in a well-ventilated area overnight.
  5. The next day, open carefully (avoid inhaling fumes).
  6. Wipe the rack clean — grime should come off easily with minimal scrubbing.
  7. Rinse thoroughly with warm soapy water.

⚠️ Important Safety Tips

  • Never mix ammonia with bleach (creates toxic gas).
  • Keep away from pets and children.
  • Always ventilate well.

If you’d prefer a no-chemical option, I can share a baking soda + vinegar method too.
