OLD FASHIONED PEACH COBBLER PIE

Posted on April 4, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic, comforting recipe for Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler Pie—soft, juicy peaches with a buttery, golden crust.

🍑 Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler Pie

🛒 Ingredients (serves 6–8)

For the filling:

  • 6–7 fresh peaches (or 2 cans, ~900g total), peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)

For the crust/topping:

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into small pieces)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3–4 tbsp ice water

Optional:

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the filling

  1. In a large bowl, mix peaches with:
    • Granulated sugar
    • Brown sugar
    • Lemon juice
    • Vanilla
    • Cinnamon
    • Nutmeg
    • Cornstarch
  2. Toss gently and set aside to macerate for 10–15 minutes.

2. Make the crust

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add ice water 1 tbsp at a time until dough just comes together.
  4. Divide into 2 portions: one slightly larger for the bottom crust.

3. Assemble the pie

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the larger portion of dough and line a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Pour peach filling over the crust.
  4. Roll out the remaining dough and place on top:
    • As a full crust with slits, or
    • Cut into strips for a lattice pattern

4. Bake

  • Bake for 45–50 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
  • If the crust browns too quickly, cover edges with foil.

5. Serve

  • Let cool 15–20 minutes before slicing.
  • Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

🔥 Tips for best results

  • Use ripe, juicy peaches for maximum flavor.
  • Toss peaches in a bit of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • For extra buttery flavor, brush top crust with milk or melted butter before baking.

If you want, I can also give a quick 30-minute version using frozen peaches—perfect if fresh peaches aren’t available.

Do you want me to make that version too?
