Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs recipe that’s tender, flavorful, and perfect for a cozy meal:

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 2 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp brown sugar for extra caramelization

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Remove the silver skin/membrane from the back of the ribs for tenderness.
    • Pat ribs dry with paper towels.
    • Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika; rub evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  2. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  3. Bake the Ribs (Slow and Tender):
    • Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet.
    • Cover tightly with aluminum foil to trap steam.
    • Bake for 2–2.5 hours, until meat is tender and almost falling off the bone.
  4. Add BBQ Sauce:
    • Remove foil and brush ribs generously with BBQ sauce.
    • Optional: sprinkle brown sugar for extra caramelization.
  5. Broil or Bake to Caramelize:
    • Turn oven to broil or increase temperature to 425°F (220°C).
    • Broil/bake 5–10 minutes until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  6. Serve:
    • Let ribs rest 5 minutes, then cut between bones.
    • Serve with your favorite sides: coleslaw, roasted veggies, or corn on the cob.

Tips

  • For even more flavor, marinate ribs in BBQ sauce and spices for 2–4 hours (or overnight) before baking.
  • Use a meat thermometer: ribs are done when internal temp is ~190–200°F (88–93°C) for tender meat.
  • Leftovers reheat well in foil at 300°F (150°C) for 15–20 minutes.

If you want, I can also give a “Sticky and Sweet Oven-Baked Ribs” version with honey and spices that makes the ribs extra finger-licking good.

Do you want me to provide that version?
