Roasted Cabbage Steaks

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 1 medium green cabbage
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan, fresh herbs, balsamic glaze

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cabbage

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove outer leaves of cabbage.
  3. Slice cabbage into 1-inch thick “steaks”.
  4. Some leaves may fall off—roast them too!

2. Season

  • Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

3. Roast

  1. Place cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Roast 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are golden brown and slightly crispy.

4. Serve

  • Sprinkle with Parmesan, fresh parsley, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired.
  • Serve as a side dish or plant-based main.

Tips

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—give each steak some space to crisp.
