Rotisserie chicken

Posted on February 7, 2026 by Admin

Absolutely! Here’s a simple and delicious homemade rotisserie-style chicken recipe — juicy, flavorful, and perfect for a family meal 🍗🔥.

Homemade Rotisserie-Style Chicken

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 whole chicken (3–4 lbs), thawed if frozen
  • 2–3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed

Instructions

1. Prep the Chicken

  1. Remove any giblets from the cavity and pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the chicken all over with olive oil or melted butter.
  3. Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and herbs, both outside and inside the cavity.

2. Add Aromatics

  • Place lemon halves and smashed garlic cloves inside the cavity.
  • Optional: add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme inside for extra aroma.

3. Roast the Chicken

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place the chicken breast-side up on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  • Roast for 1 hour 15 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.

4. Rest and Serve

  • Let the chicken rest 10–15 minutes before carving to allow juices to redistribute.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Tips for Perfect Rotisserie Flavor

  • Crispy skin: Baste chicken with pan juices halfway through cooking.
  • Extra flavor: Brush with garlic-herb butter before the last 15 minutes of roasting.
  • Slow & low: For even juicier meat, roast at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • Leftovers: Shred for tacos, sandwiches, or soups the next day.

If you want, I can also give a “true rotisserie-style” oven method that makes the chicken taste like it’s been cooked on a spit — crispy outside, super juicy inside — without needing a rotisserie machine.

Do you want me to do that?
