Posted on February 7, 2026 by Admin

Absolutely! Here’s a slow cooker pork chops and onions recipe — tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious 🐖🧅.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Onions

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional for color)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening gravy)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pork Chops

  1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  3. Sear pork chops 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned (optional, but adds flavor).

2. Layer in Slow Cooker

  1. Place half the onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add pork chops on top of the onions.
  3. Sprinkle garlic and thyme, then layer the remaining onions on top.
  4. Pour broth over everything.

3. Cook

  • Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until pork chops are tender.

4. Optional Gravy

  1. Remove pork chops and onions to a plate.
  2. Mix cornstarch + water into the liquid in the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on High for 5–10 minutes, stirring, until gravy thickens.

5. Serve

  • Serve pork chops with onions and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Tips & Variations

  • Add vegetables: Carrots, mushrooms, or bell peppers can be layered with the onions.
  • Creamy version: Stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream at the end for a richer sauce.
  • Flavor boost: Add a splash of apple cider or balsamic vinegar to the broth.

If you want, I can also give a “super simple 4-ingredient slow cooker version” that’s ready in under 5 minutes of prep and still melts in your mouth.

Do you want me to do that?
