Best Salmon Patties –

Posted on March 31, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious salmon patties recipe—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfect for a quick meal:

🐟 Best Salmon Patties

🧾 Ingredients (Makes 4–6 patties)

  • 1 can (14–15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 cup cooked fresh salmon)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2–3 tbsp oil for frying
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley or dill

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the mixture

  • In a bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, egg, mayo, mustard, and seasonings
  • Mix until well combined, but don’t overmix (keeps patties tender)

2. Form patties

  • Shape mixture into 4–6 even patties
  • If mixture is too sticky, add a little extra breadcrumbs

3. Cook the patties

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat
  • Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through

4. Serve

  • Serve warm with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or a side salad

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika or Old Bay seasoning
  • Baking option: Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F), place patties on a lined baking sheet, and bake 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway
  • Leftovers can be reheated gently or eaten cold in sandwiches

If you want, I can give you a super quick 15-minute version using canned salmon that’s extra crispy without frying for a healthier option.

Do you want me to do that?
