Dirty oven glass: the natural solution to make it shiny and clean as before

Posted on February 8, 2026 by Admin

Ah, that stubborn dirty oven glass—all that baked-on grease and grime! There’s a natural, chemical-free way to get it shiny again. Here’s a simple method:

Natural Oven Glass Cleaner

Ingredients

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • A few tablespoons water (to make a paste)
  • 1–2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • Optional: lemon juice for extra degreasing

Instructions

  1. Make a Baking Soda Paste
    • Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a spreadable paste.
  2. Apply to Oven Glass
    • Spread the paste over the inside of the oven glass (avoid heating elements).
    • Let it sit for 15–30 minutes (longer for very stubborn grime).
  3. Spray Vinegar
    • Put white vinegar in a spray bottle and lightly spray over the baking soda paste.
    • The mixture will fizz—this helps break down grease and grime.
  4. Scrub Gently
    • Use a soft sponge or cloth to scrub the glass.
    • Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the glass.
  5. Wipe Clean
    • Wipe away the paste with a damp cloth.
    • Repeat if needed for very stubborn spots.
  6. Polish (Optional)
    • For extra shine, wipe with a little lemon juice or white vinegar.

Tips for Best Results

  • Do this once a month to prevent buildup.
  • For very greasy ovens, mix the paste thicker and leave it overnight (oven off and cool).
  • Avoid commercial cleaners if you prefer natural and non-toxic solutions.

💡 Fun trick: Keep a small jar of baking soda and a spray bottle of vinegar in the kitchen—it works for stovetops, microwaves, and even glass doors too!
